Using the Chocolate Toxicity Calculator

Emergency Response Tool

Did your dog eat chocolate? Use this tool immediately.

  1. Go to Tools > Chocolate Calculator.
  2. Dog's Weight: Enter their current weight.
  3. Chocolate Type: Select the type (White, Milk, Dark, Cocoa Powder, Baker's Chocolate). Note: Darker chocolate is much more toxic.
  4. Amount Eaten: Estimate how much they ate (oz or grams). If unsure, overestimate to be safe.
  5. Calculate: We will instantly tell you the toxicity risk level.

Risk Levels:

  • None/Mild: Likely just an upset stomach.
  • Moderate: Vet visit recommended.
  • Severe: Emergency! Seizures or heart issues possible.

Call ASPCA Poison Control directly from the result page if the risk is high.
